Lake Nakuru NP was founded in 1966 as a haven for endemic birds like flamingos. Its proximity to Nakuru township and the fact that it’s fenced off makes it easy to navigate, making it a popular destination for day tours. The park is home to more than 50 animal species and more than 400 species of birds. Lake Nakuru NP helps limit human-wildlife conflict and is a safe sanctuary for the white and black rhinos (who can be easily spotted while on a game drive inside the park).
